
Dr. Faiz A. Hashmi is a behavioral scientist and program leader with more than a decade of experience in implementation research, solution design, and behavior change strategy, spanning work in India, Africa, and the United States and studies across more than 20 countries. He has held research and management positions at PCI India, CARE India, and the University of Texas at Austin, leading the behavioral science research and human-centered design for several large-scale, multi-country initiatives. Faiz specializes in generating and translating behavioral evidence into service-delivery solutions that institutions adopt; his work has shaped programs of the Bihar and Jharkhand state health departments. He combines experimental and quasi-experimental research with ethnography and design research, and prefers participatory approaches that build solutions with the frontline workers meant to use them. He currently leads research design and implementation for a Google Research collaboration on AI-assisted measurement of cognitive skills across the US and India, and manages the US site of Learning to Innovate, an eight-city study of tool innovation across five continents. Faiz holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology, a Master's in Rural Management, and a PG Diploma in Public Health Services Management. He has led and published several peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals and presented at international conferences.”
